Meet Your Instructor
My name is Barrett Harvey, and I am a Certified Flight Instructor - single and multiengine rating. I have experience in high performance and complex aircraft.
I’m passionate about helping aspiring pilots learn to fly in a way that is clear, structured, and enjoyable. Whether you’re brand new to aviation or continuing your training, my goal is to provide personalized instruction that helps you build real confidence in the cockpit.

My Approach to Flight Training
Learning to fly should feel exciting—not overwhelming. I strive to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, progressing at their own pace, and truly understanding the skills they’re developing.

At Harvey Aviation Academy, I combine the flexibility of Part 61 flight training with the structured progression often found in Part 141 programs. This means students benefit from a clear training roadmap while still enjoying the freedom and personalization that independent instruction allows.

My goal is simple: help you become a safe, confident pilot while keeping the training process efficient, approachable, and enjoyable.
Why I Love to Teach
Aviation has a unique way of inspiring people, and one of the most rewarding parts of being an instructor is helping students experience that excitement for the first time. Unfortunately, the complexity and high cost often associated with traditional flight schools can create a barrier to entry for many aspiring pilots.

One of my goals with Harvey Aviation Academy is to make flight training more approachable. By offering personalized instruction, clear training structure, and efficient lesson planning, I hope to provide a pathway into aviation that feels achievable, supportive, and enjoyable.
